Blog Post 19: Main Character analysis
Within my project, my main character will be me prising myself. Within my project I will be wearing clothing traditional to that of the early 2010's, similar to what my brother wore at the time. That being t-shirts with gritty designs on them, and long sleeve undershirts. My character will also be holding the camera for most of the opener, with this I intend on making my character more of a background entity, rather than based solely on them. I feel like with this approach I am able to capture the vision I intend on, of a vlog movie abound the progress of a friend group, not a singular person. I also feel as if this will be simpler to put into practice, as just walking around recording a vlog style opener will be less stress inducing than say that of a multi shot sequence with various angles and degrees of lighting, not to say my opener won't contain said aspects.
As for my character's details, I intend on conveying them as someone who has realized they don't really have much to look back on when they're older, with this in mind, they plan out this project, "project 2010" in order to create a time capsule of sorts for one, an example of what life used to be like in 2010, and two, a memento to look back on once all of us have reached adulthood. My character will, in all honesty, not be anything too extreme from reality. I want to encapture the most realistic depiction of an average teenager, making a fun project with his group of friends, and as such I've decided to base my character more on myself, to make them feel more natural. Aside from the camera, really all my character will have on their person will be a wallet chain, and a couple of kandi bracelets, all aspects of late 2000's fashion.
